After a night at Singapore Changi Airport after a flight from Hong Kong via SQ 001 (Trip Report for Singapore Airlines SQ 001 HKG-SIN), I returned to Terminal 2 around 05:00. It was still dark outside. To satisfy my hunger, headed toward Killiney to get myself an Asam Laksa.
Killiney at Terminal 2
I had Mee Rebus, a Singaporean Curry noodle dish which was rather heavy on peanuts.
Terminal 2 Departures Status. Terminal 2 is used by Silk Air and most international carriers. Singapore Airlines often operates out of here too.
Singapore Changi Airport operates like many European Airports, where the security checkpoint is at each gate. Therefore, anyone transferring through Singapore Airport will get off at the same floor as the departing passengers. I got here way too early, so the gate wasn't even open.
Silk Air flight attendants
Airbus A320 that will take me to Pekanbaru.
Silk Air's dominance in T2 morning.
Boarding started on time at 7:50AM.
I love this airport's architecture and interior design.
To the left you can see Tiger Airways, LCC for Singapore.
There were many ex-pats aboard the flight today. They were probably residents of Singapore going to Indonesia for business.
First time aboard Silk Air!
The economy class pitch was great. I had plenty of leg room in front of me.
A bit rainy this morning.
The seats were as comfy as they looked
The push back occurred about 30 minutes behind schedule.
Taxiing to runway
I woke up during take-off
Since it was a 50-minute flight, the service started about 10 minutes after take off. I don't think the plane even reached FL 360.
Danish pastry and beverages were distributed.
Over Indonesia Sumatra Island now.
After 30 minutes we were quickly descending.
The fields of Riau..
The clouds seemed low here.
And we were approaching the airport from the south.
Not more than an hour after take off from SIN, we landed in Pekanbaru.
That's the Pekanbaru's new terminal building.
And since the boarding bridge wasn't operable yet, we took the bus to the gate.
Inside the bus, which was very well air-conditioned.
The bus dropped us off right underneath the bridges.
Here is the que for the On-Arrival Visa (to the right)
Here you pay 25 USD and receive a receipt.
Receipt for the visa would be needed her in order to receive visa sticker.
Indonesian Visa looked like this in year 2013.
And then I could go into the country.
Since this airport was pretty new, the interior were pretty clean.
The check-in counters were located beyond this security checkpoint.
Escalator down toward airport exit.
The restaurants and shops were located on the first floor.
