 [Korean Air] KE 614 HKG-ICN (Hong Kong->Seoul/Incheon) trip report
 [대한항공] KE 614 홍콩->서울/인천 탑승기

KE 614 HKG-ICN (Hong Kong->Seoul/Incheon)
DEP HKG 14:30 05 SEP 2010
ARR ICN 19:00 05 SEP 2010
Flight Duration: 3:30
Aircraft: A330-300

I have taken this flight before.  Last year on my way back from Hong Kong to Seoul/Incheon, I took KE 614 (A330-300) in 29 JUN 2009 (Trip Report for last year's KE 614 here).
Today's flight would be different. Most of the planes for Korean Air, if not all, have been retrofitted so that all seats would have AVOD system installed in them. I just didn't realize until I went inside the plane.

Check-in counter for Korean Air near right wing of the terminal.

The shop near the Korean Air counter that attracted me. Simply because planes.

I surely do want one of these planes!

Not just Cathay Pacific planes, but other airlines' planes were on display.

I had some time to kill, so I walked around the terminal from one end to another.

I had Ajisen Ramen here for the first time.

I had the ramen+fried chicken deal for about 70HKD.

I boarded my KE 614 here last year. The KE 614's gate for today was moved to Gate 26 for some reason.

There was a PS3 trial station near Gate 10 so I spent about good 30 minutes here.

A Caviar house near the food court.

Too expensive. I'll be just looking at it from far away!

My plane that would take me to Seoul/Incheon.

Spot the Singapore Airlines A380 in the background!

Not my favorite looking plane, but Singapore Airlines livery makes up for it.

When I found out each seat had AVOD system on it.

A different scene from last year's flight!

A Taipei-bound Cathay A330 to the left of me.

KE 614 flight route map on AVOD.

The same Singapore Airlines A380 aircraft I saw earlier.

The plane took off toward west, and turned immediately toward east.

Some views of the Hong Kong Island.

And the plane arrived at the cruising level.

Distributing the peanuts and beverages.

The flight attendants started serving inflight meal not too long after.

I forgot the choices, but I chose the seafood again for this flight. It was fish with Chinese sauce and bok choys. The side dish had imitation crab meats and salad.

Today's flight, just like any other flight from Hong Kong to Korea, hugged around Taiwan Island. Had I been seated to the right side of the aircraft, I would've been able to take a good look at the Formosa.

The plane approached Incheon Airport from the north, after flying hold pattern around Seoul.

I have missed this... home-made Korean food by my grandma!

 [Korean Air] KE 614 HKG-ICN (Hong Kong->Seoul/Incheon) trip report
 [대한항공] KE 614 홍콩->서울/인천 탑승기

KE 614 HKG-ICN (Hong Kong->Seoul/Incheon)
DEP HKG 15:25 29 JUN 2009
ARR ICN 19:55 29 JUN 2009
Flight Duration: 3:30
Aircraft: A330-300

Following my Korean Air KE 613 from Seoul to Hong Kong and my 4 day stay in Hong Kong and Macau (Trip Report here), it was time to travel back to Korea.  The flight was scheduled to leave in the afternoon from Hong Kong Airport, so I took the Airport Express from Hong Kong Island at around noon-time. The flight was a A330-300, the similar (if not same) aircraft that took me from Seoul to Hong Kong 3 days ago.

The scenes of Hong Kong Harbor from Airport Express

The city, as you can see, is highly developed.

On a bridge from Airport Express Terminal to Main Terminal.

A typical Norman Foster architecture element, bridge within buildings.

I stopped by at Burger King after passing through securities and customs.

From the food court, you can see a good view of the immense size of the airport terminal.

My ride to Seoul/Incheon. KE 614 A330-300.

I see Asiana B747-400 Combi pulling up after its flight from Korea.

A view from my seat

After take off.

We crossed over Taiwan Island. The airport you see down there is Taipei/Taoyuan Airport.
I would eventually fly to Taipei in 2013 (Trip Report here)

The line up of Korean Air Cargo aircraft is always impressive.

Arrived at the main terminal.

I will eventually board a Korean Air B777-300ER on my trip from Sao Paulo to LAX. (Trip Report here)

Thank you for reading my trip report!
